Albert Jay Nielsen

Posted

Jay was born in Leadville, Colorado. His father was Lewis Nielsen, and his mother was Marsha Mayne. He is the fifth child born out of six kids — four girls and two boys.

Jay grew up riding bikes, fishing, hunting and horseback riding. Later in life, he was married to Karrie Holwuttle. They had two children, Breanna and Carl. They lived in Kemmerer. Jay worked at a high school as a custodian while living in Salt Lake City. In Kemmerer he went to work for Darrel Alder at Jubilee Market and worked for many years.

The people of Kemmerer loved Jay. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his family and friends. He also loved the mountains.

Later in life, Jay and Karrie separated. He then met a lovely lady, Jenny Halladay. They were together until Jay passed away.

Jay is survived by his three sisters, Dixie Nielsen, Debbie (Carl) Sumsion, Jake and Denise Knoll; brother, Lewis (Tina) Nielsen; his son, Carl Nielsen; and daughter, Breanna Nielsen. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his girlfriend Jenny Halladay.

Jay will be reunited with Grandma and Grandpa Mayne; his mother, Marsha Mayne; and his little sister, Christina Nielsen.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
