KEMMERER— The Lady Rangers kicked off the new year by competing in the Fossil Country Classic Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10-11 and going 2-2. “If you would have told us that we would split 2-2 I would be happy, and getting those wins was good,” said coach Tim Fagnant.
The Lady Rangers had a rough start on Jan. 10, against Cokeville losing 71-41. The Lady Rangers got a chance to prove themselves in their second game of the night playing against Farson-Eden. Coming out on top with a 58-45 win put them at 1-1 for the day.
On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Lady Rangers started off by playing against Little Snake River and falling short 46-31. They would round out the tournament by playing Rock River and winning 48-33.
The Lady Rangers had a hard-fought battle during the tournament and are looking forward to the upcoming games on Friday, Jan. 17, playing Pinedale at home, “Pinedale’s 3A; they have an individual that is really a scoring threat, we have to be defensive,” said coach Fagnant.
Following the Pinedale game, on Saturday Jan. 18, the Lady Rangers will head to Farson to play at noon.
