Fossil Basin Chamber announces Easter winners

KEMMERER — On Saturday, March 30, the Fossil Basin Chamber of Commerce concluded its Easter promotion with a free movie at Victory Theater and a drawing for money and prizes at the Chamber’s Visitors Center at Triangle Park.

A large group of young enthusiasts who gathered at the Victory Theater to see the movie “Hop” also watched some vintage cartoons starring the “other” bunny, AKA Bugs Bunny, and worked together to keep the ball in the air.

They were then surprised by a visit from E.B. himself. Some of the comments from the younger crowd were, “I thought the Easter Bunny was supposed to be pink!” and “Don’t scare the baby,” as fear filled the eyes of some of the little ones but almost everyone was happy to see him and get a treat.

After the movie, a small group gathered at the cabin to draw for the Wishing Well winners. The well was stuffed to the top with receipts from local Kemmerer and Diamondville purchases, evidence of a lot of local shopping.

The winners of the Wyoming Fossils Easter Egg was Kurt and Janet Beebe; thank you, Robert Bowen and Jen Edinger. Shanaya Magee won the Easter Egg from the Opera House; thank you, Jessica and Jake Lozier. Jaxson Archibald won the Easter Egg from Country Cuts; thank you, Shelley and Bobbie (Jacque will love it).

Lexie Scherr won the Easter Egg from Ace Hardware; thank you, Scott and Jill Tharp. The big cash prize of $200 went to Kristi Dearden.

Thank you to the Opera House, Wyoming Fossils, Bomgaars and Neilson Furniture and Appliance for hosting the Wishing Well. Thank you to Fred and Parry Baldwin (Chris and crew) for providing the free movie. Thank you, E.B. (you know who you are).

And thanks to all of you who participated by dropping your receipts in the Wishing Well. By the looks of all the receipts that were stuffed in the Wishing Well, there were a lot of people shopping local. We are so lucky to live in this area with wonderful friends and neighbors and first-class businesses that support and serve our communities. If you have a chance to thank these businesses, please tell them how much we appreciate them.
