The Cokeville 2nd Ward held an end-of-summer picnic in the park on Monday, Aug. 28. There was delicious food, visiting and yard games. Thanks to everyone who helped with the event.

Stanley Gene Thompson passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 29, surrounded by his family. Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Cokeville news roundup for Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023

The Cokeville 2nd Ward held an end-of-summer picnic in the park on Monday, Aug. 28. There was delicious food, visiting and yard games. Thanks to everyone who helped with the event.

Stanley Gene Thompson passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 29, surrounded by his family. Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Carter Smith and Sydney Nate were married on Saturday, Aug. 19, in the Idaho Falls Temple. A garden reception was held at the Dennis and Terry Nate home in Cokeville on Thursday, Aug. 31.

The Lady Panthers competed in the Border Wars Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1-2, at Evanston High School. It was a great tournament for the Lady Panthers to have the opportunity to compete with some strong teams from Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. On Friday, they swept their pool, defeating North Summit, South Summit, Murray and Uintah. On Saturday, they came up against some great competition, coming away with wins and losses and great experience. They fell to Juan Diego, Bonneville 1 and Syracuse — a 6A school from Utah. They defeated the Bonneville 2 team to bring their win/loss record to 5-3 on the weekend.

The Panthers traveled to Shoshoni on Friday for a football game under the lights against Upton/Sundance. The Panthers led 6-0 throughout most of the game but were unable to get the win, in the end falling 13-6. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs of Lovell on Friday, with kickoff set for 4 p.m.
