Joyce Ann Schramm, age 71, passed away Saturday, April 2, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Joyce was born July 27, 1950, in Cheboygan, Michigan, to Levi “Shorty” and Mildred Arnold. She was the youngest of eight children.

Joyce married Ronald “Dean” Schramm Sr. on Sept. 28, 1968, in Cheboygan, Michigan, and to this marriage two sons were born, Ron and Scott. Around 1980, Dean wanted to see the west and experience someplace new, so he moved his family to Kemmerer. With some hesitation, Joyce made the move and never looked back. The love of her life, Dean, passed away Jan. 5, 2006.

Joyce worked as a housekeeper at several Kemmerer motels over the years, primarily at the Energy Inn. She maintained a great home for Dean and their boys, always making sure they had what they needed, sacrificing her own needs.

She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed their sleepovers, playing Yahtzee and cards, making monkey bread, watching movies and telling them about the good old days when she was a kid.

Joyce loved to cook big meals and invite the entire family over and pack her little kitchen. She enjoyed a beer now and then and would frequent the Eagles, where she gathered information on what was going on in town. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, Sue and RaeAnn.

Joyce is survived by her son, Ron (Amy); grandchildren, Bailey, Dawson and Tanner of Kemmerer; and son, Scott (Kacheena) of Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by one sister, Anita Javier.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; sisters, Pat and Marge; and brothers, George, Don, Ike and Curt.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer.

A celebration of life for Joyce will be announced at a later date.
