Alonzo Carl Lively Jr.,  “Tootie,” Age 83, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 1, in Diamondville.

Carl was born on April 8, 1940, to Alonzo Carl Lively Sr. and Yvonne Gillard Lively Grivet. Carl was the second child born to this union.

Carl grew up in Diamondville and worked at the sawmill, Fontelle Basin, when he was 17 years old. He married his lifelong love, Andre Failoni, on Feb. 5, 1958. They had two children, Debra Kay Lively and Anthony John Lively, in Kemmerer.

They moved to Ogden, Utah, in 1961, and Tootie worked at Lucas Plaining Mill and Anderson Lumber. They had two more children in Ogden — Gary Allen Lively and Michelle Ann Lively. They later moved to Roy, Utah, and were there until 1976.

Carl took a job at the Kemmerer Coal Company as a truck driver, working under the Morrison Knudsen Company. Carl worked several different jobs while working there until his retirement.

“Tootie” loved fishing; in fact, you could find him on the lake or river about anytime of the year. He was one of the first float tube fisherman in the area. He loved spending time on the water with friends and family. He was also a prideful man and you could see that in his yard. His yard always looked like it was in a magazine.

“Tootie” loved his family and would do anything he could for any of them.

“Tootie” is preceded in death by his mother and father, Yvonne and Alonzo Carl Lively; a sister, Sharon Lively; a daughter, Debra K. Lively; a son, Gary Allen Lively; his stepfather, John Grivet; his mother and father-in-law, Mary Pearl and John Failoni; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Tolkers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Andre Lively; his son, John (Mary) Lively; a daughter, Michelle (Mark) Scott; a son, Jack (Lisa) Lively; and a daughter, April Lively.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas (Janet) Lively and Heidi (Kevin) Currutt; a sister, Lynn Mueller; brothers-in-law, John Failoni and Richard (Mary) Failoni; sisters-in-law, Louise Folkers and Marilyn (Bill) Downs; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel. Per his wishes, no services will be held.
