We will be a Thursday publication starting next week

One of the comments from the town hall we held a couple of weeks ago at the Legal Tender in Evanston was that people don’t want to wait a week, or sometimes two, to read our local government coverage. We agree, and we’ve been frustrated by our print schedule for some time now.

Since we’ve been printing our southwest Wyoming papers — the Uinta County Herald, Bridger Valley Pioneer and Kemmerer Gazette — on Mondays, we haven’t been able to include Monday or Tuesday meeting stories until the following week.

Because of that, we’ve moved our printing and publication dates to bring readers their news in a timelier fashion. Effective next week, each of these papers will be a Thursday publication. They will be printed Wednesday morning, on racks throughout the community Wednesday evening and in subscribers’ mailboxes on Thursday.

Another comment from the town hall was to bring back the police reports and sheriff’s office reports. Those are back now and have been for a couple of weeks. We know that’s something the community wants to see each week, and we’re committed to printing them. We’re very grateful for the law enforcement agencies that provide that information for the community.

Another exciting change: We’ve begun printing our newspapers at the Ogden Standard Examiner just over the border in Utah. You’ll notice a better printing quality and full color on all pages.

Additionally, with winter at our doorsteps, printing in Ogden will ensure you get your news on time all winter long. No more waiting on WYDOT or Mother Nature, wondering each week whether I-80 is open so our papers can make it from Torrington to Cheyenne and then Rock Springs before finally getting to dealer racks and mailboxes.

Everything is a work in progress, and we couldn’t move forward without you, the community. We welcome your comments, suggestions and letters to the editor. Please send those to bryon@kemmerergazette.com.
