The commissioners gathered for a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Kemmerer courthouse. The first part of the meeting was dedicated to the Planning and Zoning Commission who presented property line changes, new subdivisions and other matters of planning in Lincoln County. They also talked about realignment of a Cokeville road. Commissioner Kent Connelly said this is a major safety issue. The commission is applying for funds to complete the project. The commission agreed to do a 12% match to the funds asked for. This increases the chance for the fund to be approved.

The commissioners then talked about how other counties have been using their county road fund to balance their budgets, which is not an approved use of funds.

The commissioners heard a presentation about the fiber being laid around the county. A representative said that 110 miles of conduit has been placed and 133 miles of fiber have been laid so far. They estimate that by the end of the project, they will have spent around $1 million dollars in the local economy through food, lodging and other expenses.

The commissioners lifted the fire ban on the county, starting Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Brittany Ritter, the head of the Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs and Suicide Prevention Program talked to the commissioners about signing a letter supporting the production of hemp in Wyoming. They agreed to sign the letter. Ritter also said there have been seven suicides in Lincoln County this year. Ritter is also going to offer updated D.A.R.E. training.

Derek Hibbert, along with a couple others, were honored for their service to the county. Hibbert has been an officer for five years.

The next commissioners meeting is on Nov. 24.
