Sen. Fred Baldwin, R-Kemmerer, was presented the 2024 Wyoming Hospital Association Healthcare Leadership Award at the WHA Annual Convention held in Casper Aug. 26-28. The Healthcare Leadership Award is one of the highest awards given by the Association.
Sen. Baldwin has served nearly a decade in the Wyoming Legislature. Baldwin served in the Wyoming House of Representative for a term from 2015 to 2016 before being elected to the Wyoming Senate in 2017, representing Senate District 14.
In addition to his dedicated service to the people of Wyoming as an elected official, Baldwin has worked for many years as physician’s assistant in Kemmerer, as well as a volunteer firefighter. He was a consistent leader in the House and Senate, championing many pieces of legislation which aid in the strength and sustainability of Wyoming’s unique healthcare infrastructure. A few examples of his legislative accomplishments include:
HEA 14 - Prior Authorization
HEA 20 - Health Insurance - Reimbursement of Overpayment
HEA 84 - Medicaid Twelve Month Postpartum Coverage
HEA 68 - Mental Health Care Access - Collaborative Care Model
HEA 61 - Hospital Supplemental Payments - Statutory Fix
SF 53 - Ground Ambulance Service Provider Assessment Act of 2021
“Sen. Baldwin exemplifies what it means to be a healthcare leader,” a press release from the Wyoming Hospital Association reads. “We are grateful for his years of service and proud to recognize him for his success.”
