COKEVILLE — The Panthers competed in their final home game of the regular season on Friday, Oct. 18, hosting the Warriors of Worland on Nate/Dayton Field. It was a cold, fall day with threatening rain, but that didn’t deter Panther fans from coming out and cheering on their team.
It was tight in the first half with both teams finding the end zone. The Panthers, however, went for the two-point conversion and were up 8-7 at the half. The Panthers came out strong in the second half and defeated the Warriors 22-7.
Kayson Walker rushed 14 times for 114 yards to lead the offense. Justin Moyes captured all three touchdowns. On defense, Kalob Haderlie was in on 13 tackles with three sacks. Kayson Walker and Ryder Pope were also in on 13 tackles. Kalob Haderlie had one fumble recovery, and Ammon Hatch had two interceptions. This week they’ll visit Lovell on Friday for a game that will determine playoff position.
It was Senior Night and senior football players and cheerleaders were recognized and honored with their parents. Football seniors are Justin Moyes, Brendon Hymer, Gavin Weske, Kalob Haderlie, Kayson Walker, Brodie Dean and Ryder Pope. Cheerleaders are Maliyah Thompson, Brynlee Hansell, Kate Tei-chert, Brynn Lyman, Kodee Johnson and Maren McPhee. The peewee cheerleaders also performed at halftime.
