The Kemmerer High School volleyball team traveled to Big Piney last Thursday for a 2A Southwest Quadrant rematch against Big Piney.
The Lady Rangers won the first meeting between the two rivals in September 3-1, but the Lady Punchers were ready for some payback on their home court, coming away with a 4-set win to even the score, 3-1.
Big Piney won the first two sets 25-20, 25-16, and appeared poised for a sweep. The Lady Rangers battled back in set three, however, winning 25-18. Kemmerer was able to keep it close in set four, but was unable to force the tie-breaker, losing the set — and the match — 25-21.
Kemmerer (6-20-3, 3-1 in 2A SW Quadrant) will continue conference play on the road this weekend, taking on St. Stephens Friday and Wyoming Indian Saturday.
