Kemmerer High School senior Graison Kelley signed a letter of commitment late last month to join the wrestling team at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, next fall.

The signing ceremony, held at Kemmerer High School, celebrated Kelley’s dedication to academics and athletics, marking a significant milestone in his journey.

Kelley — a standout wrestler for the Kemmerer Rangers and the 2025 2A State Champion at 165 pounds — was a four-time state placer, two-time Regional Champion, and two-time all-state wrestler for the Rangers. Kelley also made his mark on the gridiron for the Rangers, twice earning All-Conference honors, as well as All-State honors his senior year.

Kelley’s commitment to Briar Cliff — an NAIA program competing in the Great Plains Athletic Conference — reflects his hard work and passion for the sport.

“Briar Cliff offers a competitive wrestling environment and a supportive academic community,” he said. “I’m excited to continue my wrestling career and achieve my goals both on the mat and in the classroom. I also want to give a huge thank you to all who have supported me over the years. Without my mom and dad, brother and sister, my grandparents, Coach Bullington, Coach Hartung, Coach Walker, Coach Proffit and my teammates, none of this would be possible.”

Briar Cliff’s wrestling program — led by Head Coach Donaco Watts — is known for attracting dedicated student-athletes. The Chargers provide athletic scholarships and emphasize both athletic and academic excellence, making it an ideal fit for Kelley.  Graison will be joining his older brother Ayden Kelley, who is currently wrapping up his second year as a member of the Briar Cliff wrestling team.

The signing event drew family, friends, and community members, showcasing Kemmerer’s tight-knit spirit. As he prepares for Briar Cliff University, Kelley aims to make an immediate impact on the Chargers’ roster, while continuing to embody the values of his community.
