Kemmerer High School choir and band show well in Star Valley solo ensemble last month

Kemmerer High School band and choir students excelled in a solo ensemble last month in Star Valley, all earning the highest rating from judges at the event.

Seniors Janelle Sawaya, Aralyn Erickson, Camden Killian and Arianne Dearden; junior Cambree Dearden; sophomores Owen See, Jacob Platt and Katherine McAffee; and freshmen Lily Lundgren, Abram Hartmann, Eva Hunter, Danika Draper, Callahan Ryerse, Cole Rogers and Logan Emery performed band solos. Each student earned a superior rating.

In choir, seniors Camden Killian and Janelle Sawaya; juniors Kabrie Witbeck and Chloe Shenevar; sophomore Kaylie Julander; and freshmen Anna Smith, Josie Gunter, Denna Slater and Brent Erickson performed, also earning superior ratings.

Band and choir director Sharon Reetz thanked participants in an email to the Gazette, writing, “Individual growth is what makes our large ensembles flourish!”
