Girls’ basketball
The Lady Rangers’ basketball team had its final game of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 15, at Wyoming Indian. The Lady Rangers fell 87-26. The girls have a regular season record of 5-17, and a conference record of 0-6.
The Kemmerer girls will compete at the 2A West regional basketball tournament in Riverton from February 21 to 23.
Kemmerer (No. 4 SW) will face off against Greybull (No. 1 NW) on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Riverton High School. The Greybull girls have a season record of 17-5 and a conference record of 6-0.
If the Lady Rangers beat Greybull, they play the Tongue River / Wind River winner in the semifinal game at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22. The winner of that game qualifies for the state tournament.
If they win the semifinal game, the Lady Rangers play in the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Riverton.
If the Kemmerer girls lose to Greybull, they play the loser of Tongue River / Wind River in the consolation round at 11:30 a.m. at Riverton. The loser of that game is out of the state tournament.
If the Lady Rangers win in the consolation round, they play on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 8:00 a.m. The loser of that game is out, and the winner qualifies for the state tournament. If the Lady Rangers win Saturday’s 8:00 a.m. game, they play for 3rd place at 11:30 a.m. at Riverton High School.
Boys’ basketball
The Ranger boys’ basketball team had its final game of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 15, at Wyoming Indian. The Rangers fell 84-54. Their regular season record is 2-20, with their conference record at 2-4.
The boys will compete at the 2A West regional tournament in Riverton from Feb. 21–23.
On Thursday, Feb. 21, Kemmerer (No. 3 SW) faces off against Tongue River (No. 2 NW) at Central Wyoming College at 4:00 p.m. Tongue River is 7-14 this season and has a 3-3 conference record.
If the Rangers beat Tongue River, they play the winner of Riverside/Wyoming Indian in the semi-final game. That game will be on Friday, Feb. 22, at 4:30 p.m. at Riverton High School, and the winner qualifies for the state tournament.
If Kemmerer wins the semi-final game, they play in the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 4:00 p.m. at Riverton.
If the Rangers lose to Tongue River, they play the loser of Riverside/Wyoming Indian in the consolation round. That game will be on Friday, Feb. 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Riverton High School, and the loser is out of the state tournament.
If the Rangers win the consolation round, they play on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 9:30 a.m. at Central Wyoming College. The loser of that game is out, and the winner qualifies for the state tournament and gets to play for third place at 1:00 p.m. at Riverton.
