It is with deep sadness that we remember the life of Jack Lyn Witherspoon, fondly known as Jackie, born on Aug. 28, 1947, in Kemmerer. A loving and resilient soul, Jackie was a beacon of light who brought joy and laughter to all who were privileged to know her.

She was a courageous individual, never afraid to face her many physical challenges head-on, and always emerging victorious, with her tremendous spirit. Despite her many challenges, her sense of humor was contagious, brightening the day for everyone in her life.

Jackie worked at Danville Services, a day program where she learned life skills and developed many friendships. She enjoyed art which brought enjoyment to her life. Her paintings and drawings showed her creative spirit and her love for life’s simple beauties.

Jackie’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, attending St. Jude’s Episcopal Church weekly, and praying every night, always including her beloved family and friends in her prayers. Her devotion was a testament to her deeply held belief in the power of faith and love.

Jackie will always be remembered for her loving nature, her courage, her resilience, and her wonderful sense of humor.

She leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Jerry Taylor; and her brother, Jim Witherspoon, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She now rests peacefully with her parents, Robert and Genevie Witherspoon, who preceded her in death.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Saint Jude’s Episcopal Church, 70 W. 200 North, Cedar City, Utah. We invite you to join us for food and memories following the service.

In the words of the Episcopal prayer, “May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
