KEMMERER — On Thursday, Jan. 30, students of the Kemmerer Child Development Center (KCDC) came to Kemmerer Junior Senior High School for their annual reading night. But this year was a little different. The Kemmerer Interact club, a subsidiary of the Rotary Club, won a grant to work on a literacy project. With funds from Interact and Rotary in combination with the grant money, Interact was able to purchase a book for each student. They served the kids and their families a wonderful taco dinner. Kaylynn See, an Usborne distributor, presented on literacy and reading at home. Then, the Interact students read books to the kids, who each went home with a new book and a smile! Katie Julander, the director of KCDC, said that the turnout was fantastic, and that she really enjoyed working with KJSHS students
