KEMMERER — Nonprofits meet critical needs and play a vital role in enriching life in Wyoming’s communities. Supporting this important work takes resources, and the Kemmerer Foundation Fund at the Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) is proud to be a partner in ensuring local nonprofits can thrive.

In the Kemmerer, Diamondville, and the Frontier area, the Kemmerer Foundation Fund supports nonprofit work in the areas of arts and culture, civic projects, recreation, and health and human services. In 2025, more than $92,000 in grants were awarded to nonprofits in the area. Since the Kemmerer Foundation transitioned to WYCF in 1999, the fund has distributed more than $1.5 million, fueling more than 130 local projects.

The Kemmerer Foundation was established in 1981 following the sale of the Kemmerer Coal Company. John L. Kemmerer created the Foundation with a $1,000,000 endowment to benefit Kemmerer, Diamondville, and the area known as Frontier. This was his way of giving back to the area that had done so much for his family. Since then, the Kemmerer family has continued to grow the endowment with additional contributions, ensuring a legacy of support.

If your charity or organization has an upcoming project in 2026 that could benefit from funding, officials encourage you to apply! The next deadline to apply for funding from the Kemmerer Foundation Fund at WYCF is March 17, 2026.
