On Friday, Jan. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 27, the Cokeville wrestling team competed in the 19th annual Ron Thon tournament in Riverton.

The Ron Thon is a challenging tournament with a lot of amazing wrestlers and steep competition. In this tournament, all weight classes compete against each other.

The Panthers entered six wrestlers in the tournament’s varsity division and 11 wrestlers in the tournament’s junior varsity division. The Cokeville Panther wrestlers competed against much larger schools and they all competed well. In the junior varsity division, Wes Teichert (138) finished the tournament in fifth place.

Cokeville’s varsity squad also wrestled well, with three varsity wrestlers placing: Cordell Viehweg placed 4th, Antheny Petersen placed 6th and Lochlyn Teichert also placed 6th.

The Panthers will prepare this week for the Bridgerland tournament on Friday, Feb. 2, at Mountain View High School.
