The Panther grapplers traveled to Big Piney on Friday, Feb. 21, for the 2A West Regional Wrestling Tournament. The Panthers qualified 14 wrestlers for the State Tournament in Casper this week. Placing in the top four were: Cade Thompson at 106 placed second, Cinch Pope at 106 placed fourth, Mason Child at 120 placed second. Daxton Pope at 132 placed third, Flint Linford at 150 placed second, Clay Teichert at 157 placed third. Kashton Walker at 175 placed first, and Ryder Pope at 190 placed second.
Also qualifying for the state tournament were: Killian Teichert at 126, Raiden Pond at 126, Logan Halls at 144, Maecion Brook at 150, Jedediah Awtrey at 165 and Kyler Nelson at 215.
The Panthers placed fourth overall as a team with 140 points behind Kemmerer with 177, Thermopolis with 151 and Greybull/Riverside with 145.
