The Cokeville hoopsters were on the road over the weekend in conference action. Their first stop on Saturday was Saratoga. Saratoga jumped out to a small lead in the first, 15-19, but Cokeville took control in the second and held onto that lead in the second half to get the win, 54-49.
Justin Moyes had 20 points and 7 rebounds. Dash Nate had 12 points. Kayson Walker had 4 steals, and Kalob Haderlie had 4 boards.
They traveled to Encampment on Saturday, where it was the first and third quarters that made the difference. The Panthers jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter, and they were up 24-18 at the half. They put 22 more on the board, holding the Tigers to 10, enough to outlast the Tigers and get the win, 55-42.
Nate had 22 points and was 6 of 7 from the three-point arc to lead the Panther scoring. Moyes had 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Haderlie had 8 rebounds, while Joey Thomas added 7 and Kayson Walker had 5. The Panthers will be home this week on Friday for a rematch with the Farson Pronghorns. On Saturday, they will host the Ft. Washakie Eagles.
The Lady Panthers had a great weekend, winning two conference games on the road. In Saratoga on Friday, they defeated the Saratoga Lady Panthers, 65-34.
Addison Barnes had 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 steals. Mia Dayton had 15 points and 5 assists. Maddy Dayton added 10 points to the Cokeville scoreboard. Bailey Bird had 6 rebounds, and Rachel Thomas had 4 rebounds.
The following day, Saturday, Feb. 8, they traveled on to Encampment. Again, the Lady Panthers were successful, winning 53-31. Barnes had 15 points and 9 rebounds. Mia Dayton had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Bird had 9 points. Thomas had 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Maddy Dayton had 4 assists, and Whytli Groll had 3 assists.
They will be home Friday and Saturday for their final home games of the season, hosting Farson and Ft. Washakie.
