Lady Panthers beat Encampment, Saratoga

The Lady Panthers hosted the Lady Tigers of Encampment on Friday, Feb. 10. This was a crucial conference game for the Lady Panthers. They came out strong and won big, 47-35. Addison Barnes led the scoring with 14. Kylee King and Jayci Thornock each had five rebounds. Bryli Groll had four assists and five steals. The Lady Panthers had a second conference matchup on Saturday where they hosted the Saratoga Lady Panthers. This game proved to be a dogfight to the finish as the two took turns taking the lead throughout the game, but it was the home team, the Cokeville Lady Panthers, who came away with the great win, 40-38. The scoring was well balanced with Mia Dayton putting up 10, Addison Barnes with nine and Jayci Thornock and TyLeigh Dayton each with eight. Bryli Groll and TyLeigh Dayton each had six rebounds. Mia Dayton had four steals and Rachel Thomas and Bryli Groll with three apiece. It was truly a team effort. Saturday night was Senior Night where Jayci Thornock was recognized along with senior cheerleaders Ashleigh Brooks, Kamille Moore and Braelyn Diers. Congratulations, Lady Panthers, on a tremendous weekend!

Panthers win against Encampment, Saratoga

The Panthers were host to the Encampment Tigers on Friday, Feb. 10. The Tigers were no match for the Panthers who took the win easily, 54-28. Jack Dayton had 16 points to lead the scoring followed by Justin Moyes with 13 and Mo Uasike with 11. Drake Plowman and Uasike led in rebounding with eight each followed by Jesus Bencomo with six. Tanner Hatch had five assists while Dayton and Plowman each had six steals. The Panthers were hoping to take this momentum into Saturday’s game against a very strong Saratoga Panther team. The home team put up a good fight but fell to the visiting Panthers 46-62. Dayton led the scoring with 13 followed by Uasike with 11. Moyes finished out the top scorers with nine. Dayton had four assists. Plowman and Bencomo pulled down five rebounds apiece. Saturday was Senior Night where Tanner Hatch, Jesus Bencomo, Mo Uasike and Krystian Nielsen were honored.

Panther wrestlers to host 2A West Regionals

The Panthers grapplers traveled to Pinedale for the Pinedale Invite on Saturday, Feb. 11, and came home with two champions, Cael Thompson and Landon Walker. Micah Petersen finished in third place. Coach Linford was very pleased with how well all of the wrestlers competed! The Panthers will host the West Regional Wrestling Tournament on Friday, Feb. 17. There will be a fee to watch because this is a culminating event. Come out and cheer on your Cokeville Panther wrestlers!
