Craft day at the library

The Cokeville Branch Library held its monthly craft day on Monday, January 23. Those attending enjoyed making a cute snowman can. Thanks to Tracey Whitehead and the staff at the library for sponsoring this fun event. Head to the library to see February’s craft. February craft day is on February 9 at 3:00 and 5:00. State Cheer competition postponed

The Cokeville High School Cheer Squad presented their state routines for family, friends and community members on Tuesday in the auditorium prior to leaving for the State Cheer competition. The Ladies traveled to Casper on Thursday night but the event was postponed due to severe weather so they traveled back home and will have a few more weeks to polish up their routines.

Wrestlers senior night

Wednesday, the Panther Wrestlers were at home for their final home dual of the season where they hosted the Mountain View Buffs. It was also Senior Night. Seniors honored included: Jaxon Weske, son of Jon and Sarah Weske, Cael Thompson, son of Mike and Angela Thompson and Landon Walker, son of Levi and Kari Walker. All three seniors won their matches that evening. The wrestlers also traveled to the Ron Thon Wrestling Tournament in Riverton on Friday and Saturday. Landon Walker came home with a third place finish in the Varsity and Ryder Pope finished sixth in the Junior Varsity Division. This is a tournament where the best of the best across the state of Wyoming compete. Congratulations to all the Panther Wrestlers for their accomplishments at this tournament!

Lady Panthers hoops come up short

The Lady Panthers traveled to Kemmerer for another meeting with the Lady Rangers of Kemmerer. The Lady Panthers worked hard but came up short 42-52. Addison Barnes led the scoring with 14 followed by Mia Dayton with 13. Jayci Thornock had 6 boards, TyLeigh Dayton pulled down 4 and Barnes had 5. Bryli Groll and TyLeigh Dayton each had 3 steals and Mia Dayton had 4 assists. The game against the Lady Rattlers of Snake River was postponed until February 14 due to severe weather conditions making it impossible for the Lady Rattlers to travel to Cokeville. This week the Lady Panthers will host the Lady Braves of Star Valley on Wednesday and the Lady Pronghorns of Farson on Saturday. Good luck Lady Panthers!

Panthers lose to Rangers

The Panthers traveled to Kemmerer to face the Rangers once again on their home court. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter 18-12 and led at the half 30-23 but the Rangers came out firing in the fourth to take the slight lead and won it in the end by a small margin 53-58 over the visiting Panthers. Justin Moyes led the scoring with 16 points followed by Jack Dayton and Tanner Hatch each with 10. Jesus Bencomo and Moyes led in rebounding with 4 each. Dayton had 5 steals and 5 assists. The Panther match up against the Rattlers of Snake River was also postponed to February 14. The Panthers will host the Braves of Star on Wednesday and the Farson Pronghorns on Saturday.
