KEMMERER The Kemmerer/Diamondville Chamber of Commerce has a fun-filled day planned for July 4 at the Diamondville Park.

Horseshoes will begin at 9 a.m.; kids games and concessions will start at noon. The Home Run Derby will take place at 2 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the Kemmerer Little League to help send the two all-star teams to Riverton on July 17. These teams and coaches have worked hard to earn the honor of representing our community at the district level, and now they need our help to get there.

The derby is open to anyone over the age of six. You get three hits for $10. Age groups will be determined at sign-up.

Kemmerer Middle School eighth graders will also be holding a fundraiser for their Washington D.C. trip in February. The kids will be selling hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks all afternoon. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these kids, and each participant needs to earn over $1,000 for the trip.

The American Legion Post 55 and the chamber of commerce are raising funds for the fireworks display that will take place Thursday evening at dusk. If you want to support the community and keep this tradition alive and well, please consider making a contribution to the fireworks fund. For more information, contact the chamber office at (307) 877-9761.

According to Kemmerer city officials, regular fireworks regulations are in place, and the fireworks show will go on as planned.
