KEMMERER — Lincoln County clerk Jeannie Wagner has been nominated and voted in as president of the Wyoming County Clerks Association (WCCA). The twenty-three member association votes for their president and vice-president every two years, the secretary/treasurer position is chosen by the newly elected president.

WCCA’s vice-president is Natrona County’s Renea Vitto; Lana Wilcox from Uinta County serves as secretary/treasurer for the clerk association through September 2014.

As president, Wagner is responsible for preparing meeting agendas, delegating duties to other clerks and acting as the main public contact for the association.

WCCA holds three meetings a year: one legislative meeting, one spring meeting and the Wyoming Association of Officers (WACO) meeting. At the legislative meeting held annually in Cheyenne, clerks take care of remaining election business and discuss legislation that has a direct effect on their offices. The WACO includes meetings for all elected officers associations and then meetings for separate offices.

According to Wagner the associations were formed to provide officers an opportunity to meet and share information and experiences that will help improve the county’s functions.
