Bankers and Bootleggers - Parade double feature!

Continuing with our parade theme this summer for our Pics of the Week, we have chosen two snapshots from the same parade featured in recent POW features.

As a reminder to our readers, this parade was held in late May or early June of 1982 as the date on the envelope reads “June 14, ‘82.” We believe these are Martin Hangich photos taken along Pine Ave. in Kemmerer in front of the Taco Time. The first photo features a horse-drawn buggy with a sign that reads, “Fossil Butte National Bank. Several of the riders’ faces are clearly visible so as to assist in the identification of the subjects. The second photo clearly reads “Diamondville Bootleggers.” We are hoping to identify many of the subjects in this float as well. The photos are available at the Gazette office for closer scrutiny.

Anyone with information as to the event and the individuals in the photos is encouraged to call Kay at (307) 877-3347 or email reporter@kemmerergazette.com.
