Vaughan running for Council
Posted: Thursday, Jul 29th, 2010

My name is Christy Anne Vaughan and I have registered to run for election to continue my service on the Diamondville Town Council. I was appointed to fill a vacant seat and I have worked hard to stay informed about the issues and residents’ opinions and preferences.

I have decided not to spend any funds on my campaign beyond the $25 filing fee. I am between jobs after being cut in budget reductions. I know, first hand, how tight money is for families and small municipalities. While Diamondville was going through our budget process, I stressed and reiterated that we need to cut things, not people. Our small, but experienced staff of public servants is our greatest asset.

I am dedicated to public service. I am on the board of a start-up non-profit in south Lincoln County and active in church and civic associations, including Lions Club, Fossil Fest, WAM (Wyoming Association of Municipalities), Kemmerer Brass Quintet booster, and the Christmas concert series of the Community Choir.

I believe I have acted responsibly, courteously and respectfully in the fulfillment of my duties. I humbly ask that if you are satisfied with my service that you will vote for me on August 17.
