The Big Piney-Marbleton Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their second annual Demolition Derby at the outdoor arena at the Sublette County Fairgrounds in conjunction with the county fair on July 31 at 4 p.m.
Admission will be $5 each.
Participants will pay $75 for each vehicle entered, and may be registered all the way up through the 31st until 2:30 p.m.
Inspections will begin the morning of the event at 8 a.m. and will cease at 3 p.m.
Jake Carver with the derby board says that all the proceeds will go “back to the drivers.” The volunteer fire department has even donated $2,000 to go towards cash prizes.
Cash prizes will be given to the three best-painted cars and $500 will be awarded to the driver of any rolled vehicle.
“We are not in this to make money,” Carver said in a phone interview Tuesday. “We wanted to offer another fun fair event that everyone could enjoy.”
