Wrestlers compete in Bridgerland duals

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Panther wrestlers competed in the Bridgerland Duals on Saturday, Jan. 26, in Mountain View. They were placed in a pool of four that included Lyman, Pinedale, Rich County and Cokeville.

For their first dual, the Panthers competed against the Lyman Eagles, who matched up with the Panthers in nine head-to-head matches. The Panthers won five and the dual, 46-27.

The boys’ next dual was against the Wranglers of Pinedale. They matched up head-to-head in seven matches, of which the Panthers won five and the dual, 60-9.

The final dual of the pool was with the Rich County Rebels. Here they matched up head-to-head in 11 matches. The Panthers won nine and the dual, 55-24. This put them in first place in their pool.

Their final dual of the day was with the Broncs of Jackson who finished first in their pool against Mountain View, Big Piney and Kemmerer. In that dual, the Panthers matched up head-to-head in 12 matches. The Panthers won seven but lost the dual by a slim margin, 37-39.

Panthers who finished the day with only one loss were Jason Robertson (113) 3-1 and Colt Larson (120) 4-1.

Panthers who went undefeated were James Teichert (126), Macen Petersen (132), Brigham Teichert (145), Brock Teichert (152) and Colter Linford (170). Ellis Toomer (132) also went undefeated in his JV matches.

The Panther matmen now prepare for the Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton on Feb. 1 and 2.
