EVANSTON — The Cokeville Panthers traveled to Evanston on Thursday, Dec. 20, to face the Evanston Red Devils’ sophomore team and came away with a 42–40 win. The Red Devils held onto the lead for most of the game, but with less than a minute to go, the Panthers clawed their way back to finish with the win.
The top three leading Panther scorers for the night included Jonathan Fiscus and Brendon Cook with 10 points each, followed by Cody Nate with 8 points.
The Panthers were hot from the free throw line, shooting 71 percent, helping the Panthers down the stretch to come back and get the win. Nathan Teichert and Fiscus were both 100 percent from the free throw line. Rebounding leaders were Braxton Delgado with 5, Jonathan Fiscus with 3, and both Brendon and Nathan Cook’s 2 total rebounds.
Next week the Panthers start conference play with a road trip to Little Snake River on Friday, Jan. 4, before facing Dubois at home on Saturday.
