BIG PINEY — The Lady Rangers kept the score pretty close with the Lady Punchers on Friday, Jan. 4, in Big Piney. They created quite a few turnovers but were unable to capitalize by turning them into points.
“We missed every shot we took outside of ten feet and didn’t do much better from the key,” said Coach Nate Reinhardt.
The Kemmerer girls shot 9 of 16 from the line, while Big Piney went 13 of 16. Defensively Kemmerer gave up some second chance points and had to start fouling Big Piney in the last few minutes to get the ball back, because Big Piney was trying to run the clock out on the Rangers. The score was 40-43 in favor of the Lady Punchers when time ran out on the game clock.
“The Lady Rangers will be working on their overall defense,” said Reinhardt. “We have no reason to give up 43 points.”
The ladies will be facing Shoshoni on Friday, Jan. 11, and Pinedale on Saturday, Jan. 12; Kemmerer will be host to both.
“Shoshoni is a good team that has given us trouble in the past, we will be working to be consistent on offense and bring some toughness to our defense,” said Reinhardt. “The same goes for Pinedale.”
