Barbara Isabelle Stallings, age 83, passed away at South Lincoln Nursing Center in Kemmerer, on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.
Barbara was born on Nov. 2, 1930 in Bayfield, Colo., the daughter of George Francis and Hanna Inez (Tycksen) Olbert. She married Francis Gustave “Curley” Stallings, Sr. on June 7, 1950 in Farmington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1987.
Barbara loved being in the outdoors. She especially enjoyed gardening, raising beautiful flower gardens, spending time fishing, hunting, and cooking.
She loved to travel the world with her husband as he took them many places for his employment. Barbara was a kind and gracious lady to all whom she met throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, daughter Barbara Casey, of Portland, Ore., a son, Gustave Stallings, of Ralston, and a daughter, Kathy (Don) Failoni, of Kemmerer. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Howard Olbert, of Denver, Colo., and a sister, Karen Peters, also of Denver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two grandsons.
As per her wishes, Barbara will be cremated, with Ball Family Chapel entrusted with her care. Memorial donations may be made to that of the donor’s choice.
