Ruby Vetos, age 99, passed away on Jan. 1 at South Lincoln Nursing Center in Kemmerer.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1913, in Carpenter, S.D., to Henry Board and Florence Hannah Board. She was raised and married and then raised her own children in South Dakota. After the death of her husband, she moved to Wyoming to be closer to three of
her children. She was very active in her church, Berta A. Penny United Memorial Methodist Church. She also loved to be involved in the Senior Center in Kemmerer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Vetos, six sisters, two brothers, and two grandsons, Kip Vetos and Brian Carotta.
Ruby is survived by children Douglas (Janet) Vetos of Kemmerer; Karen (Delbert) Eisenbraun of Sturgis, SD.; Walter (Lillian Kampman) Vetos of Kemmerer; Paul (Lynette) Vetos, of Missoula, Mont.; and Sam (Cynthia) Vetos of Kemmerer. She is also survived by grandchildren Cindy (Robert) Dennis of Red Owl, S.D., John Lass of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lloyd (Sheri) Vetos, of Mitchell, S,D., Lori (Dan) Wegehaupt of Sioux
Falls, Tammy (Fred) Rose of Phoenix, Ariz., Patsy (Benny) Sanchez of Tucson, Ariz. Terry (Katrea) Vetos of Kemmerer, Travis (Shannon) Vetos of Evanston, Wyo.; Angie (Gil) Guyon of Thermopolis, Wyo., Kari (Rich) Bull of Pocatello, Idaho, Ryan Vetos of Missoula, Andrew (Amber) Vetos of Kemmerer, and Alex (Rebecca) Vetos of Kemmerer. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Ft. Pierre, S.D., this summer where Ruby will be inurned next to her husband, Lloyd.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel in Kemmerer.
