KEMMERER — Members of the Kemmerer High School Class of 1973 got together to celebrate their 40th anniversary of graduation.
Those attending were David Hunzie, Joe Feeley, Steve Peart, Frank Zebre, Jim Edinger, Earl Norris, Rick Harker, Andy Marshinsky, Brian Rindels, Murph Roberts, Bonnie (Ziegler) Damori, Bernie Damori, Father Farrell Peternal, Lucy Peternal, Wade Beebe, Pat (Bowen) Greenfield, Nancy (Johnson) Combs, Mary (Head) Service’, Linda (Joslin) Guice, Debbie (Gunter) Harker, Terri (Lorenzi) Penrod, Gayle (Lowham) Wood, Darlene Dougherty (Teacher), Rita (Bonicelli) Haws, Annie Jetkoski and Linda (Whiteman) Tempte. Not pictured was Mary (Cheni) Podlesnik, and Vince Guinta, coach.
Friday evening started the event with a get-together in the Bank of the West corner parking lot, where the class of ‘73 enjoyed the music from the Oyster Ridge Music Festival while mingling and visiting with classmates.
On Saturday the group enjoyed a dinner in Diamondville Park. The meal was catered by Dickie’s Barbeque, and floral and table decorations were arranged by Gayle Wood and Patty Jo Douglas. Desserts were brought by Pat Greenfield, Bonnie Damori and Annie Jetkoski.
An invocation was given by Father Farrell, the valedictorian of the class. He also gave a blessing for all classmates, those present, those who could not attend and those that had passed away.
Earl Norris, class vice-president welcomed all to the reunion and spoke to the class about the many good memories from their high school years.
Darlene Dougherty stopped by to visit with students she had taught. Vince Guinta presented Farrell Peternal with a KHS Blanket and visited with the class.
A trivia quiz was given by Rita Haws and prizes were popcorn buckets put together by Pat Greenfield, with movies from 1973 including The Sting, The Way We Were, The Excorcist, American Graffiti and Live and Let Die. Door prizes were the purple and gold (class colors) roses.
Everyone enjoyed the get-together. Linda Guice, who organized the reunion, stated that the next reunion will be five years from now in 2018.
