‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to be staged May 17

KEMMERER — What happens when a young boy plants magic beans in his own backyard? For Jack, it is the beginning of a great adventure.

Audiences are invited to come along this Friday, May 17, when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 50 local students present “Jack and the Beanstalk.”

The local cast features Ashley Stevens as Jack, Bailey Bowen as Mother, Angela Smith as Milky White, Ashlee Snively as the Elegant Harp, Karsten Boley as Jill and Eli Boley as the legendary Giant.

Adding a unique twist to the story will be an unusual mix of characters, including Kelsi Nicotera, Thomas Stevens, Auralee Biebinger, Louis Failoni, Kaylee Hagler, Rilee Martinez, Peyton Ashley, Hayden Julander, Morgan Van Der Zalm and Aislynn Lasik as the Farmers.

Appearing as Merchants will be Benjamin Wergin, Gavin Julander, Teryn Thatcher, Makenzi Crittenden, Katie Hendrickson, Stevie Moyles, K’Lee Smuin, Maddysyn Diers and Diana Nielson.

Eric Wiswell, Savannah Ellis, Eva Stone, Mica Carlson, Zakirie Malone, Warren Haslem, Shaun Nelson, Timothy Peck, Tyler Thatcher, Jacquline Miller, Kylynn Martin, Lynsie Julander, Chloe Messick, Paizley Levengood, Heather Hall, Karl Haslem, Mont Haslem and Janelle Sawaya will be Circus Performers.

Anna Stone, Anita McAffee, Aralyn Erickson, Ella Thatcher, Nora Broadhead, Sarah Bullock, Christopher Baldwin, Isabella Smith, Derek Hagler, Madelin Lack, Gabe Wiswell and Ashlynn Smith will appear as the Wonder Beans.

Tucker Erickson, Eli Erickson, Callie Bosch and Jonni Stezenbach have served as assistant directors throughout the week.

Jack and the Beanstalk will be presented at 1 and 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Pre-schoolers are free. Tickets will be available at the door during each performance.
