Superintendent follows up

Modified: Thursday, Dec 20th, 2012

KEMMERER Lincoln County School District No. 1 superintendent Teresa Chaulk has made another statement following a meeting with local law enforcement personnel and the Kemmerer city administrator, Rebecca Davidson, in response to recent rumors about threats to local schools:

"School safety is always a primary concern of the district's teachers, administrators, staff and the board. We are still in the process of calling every parent to make them officially aware of the rumors of threats and of the district and community's actions to enhance our security measures.

The district officials met with the Kemmerer Police Department and the city administrator to discuss proactive measures for our schools on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. The Kemmerer Police Department will be providing protection to our schools in coordination with Lincoln County Sheriff's department and Diamondville Police Department.

We will have school as scheduled tomorrow with enhanced security, heightened awareness and police protection. If you have any questions, please call your building principal or Teresa Chaulk at 877-9095. Thank you."
