The Wyoming Litttle League State Tournament took place July 19-24 in Riverton. Competition at the state level was quite a bit more challenging for the Kemmerer All-Stars than the games they played earlier in the season. On Monday, the Kemmerer All-Stars played Sheridan and were defeated 29-0. The next day, our hometown all-stars lost to Gillette American 30-0. On Wednesday, the team’s bats came alive against Rawlins, but they still lost by a slim margin of 7-6. The game Thursday knocked the Kemmerer All-Stars from the tournament with a 28-2 defeat at the hands of the Platte County All-Stars. Playing four games in four days brought 10 of the 11 All-Stars to the mound to pitch. Offensively, 10 of the 11 also hit, with outstanding hits by Dylan McCloud, Kodee Vining, Shaylee Smith, Austin Fagnant and Breandon Painter. The Laramie All-Stars eventually won the tournament state title on Saturday.
